The Carline Fields development on the banks of the River Severn consisted of fifty-six new retirement dwellings built on low lying flood land. The dwellings are situated at a critical location within the Shrewsbury conservation area with prominent views into the town centre, on a site surrounded by historic buildings.
The new-build housing consists of a series of squares and crescents, reflecting both the medieval massing and arrangement of the town as well as later clusters of grand housing that can be found within the town. The complex has proved a lasting success, remaining a sought-after address within the town.
